Juvederm Injections – Houston, TX

What is Juvederm and How Does It Work?

Juvederm® is a smooth consistency dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found naturally in the body. FDA approved, Juvederm is injected into the dermis, skin, adding volume to the face to reduce wrinkles and replenish hydration to the skin. The major components that make up the dermis are hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin fibers. As you age and your skin is exposed to the sun and other environmental pollutants, your cells gradually begin to lose their hyaluronic acid, thus your skin becomes dehydrated, and the collagen and elastin fibers lose their structure. The result is dry skin and loss of volume, causing folds and wrinkles. Juvederm injections from Houston, TX oral surgeons temporarily replaces lost hyaluronic acid with its own natural formulation of hyaluronic acid.

In order to combat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, commonly called your "laugh lines," "parenthesis,” “nasolabial folds,” or "marionette lines," Juvederm is used very successfully. Juvederm dermal filler provides results that last 6 months or more, even up to a year. Touch-ups and maintenance may be needed to prolong your desired results.
