Dr. Thomas M. Weil

Dr. Thomas M. Weil offers a wealth of experience and a true passion for excellence in oral and maxillofacial surgery. For decades, he has developed his skills in practice and through his leadership roles in local and national dental organizations. He is a past president of the Texas, Houston, and Southwest Societies for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Weil attended the Baylor University College of Dentistry and underwent his internship at the United States Air Force Hospital at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois (1965-1966). He then completed his residency at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Weil received his certification through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1973 and has been providing superior care in the field ever since.

Currently, Dr. Weil is highly esteemed in several important professional organizations for oral and maxillofacial surgeons. He is a former examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the certifying board for the specialty. Aside from this appointment, Dr. Weil is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

In addition to the significant time he dedicates to the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Weil is committed to its continued research and study. He has lectured extensively on a number of topics related to oral and maxillofacial surgery. His special interests in the field include dentoalveolar surgery, dental and oral maxillofacial implants, orthognathic surgery, and the diagnosis and management of facial pain.

Dr. Weil has also held various teaching appointments, including as Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinical Associate Professor, University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
