Receive Teeth In An Hour with Dental Implants
Teeth-In-An-Hour™ is a concept providing patients with fully functioning teeth on dental implants in a single procedure that takes about an hour. This dental technology needs the collaboration between both the restorative dentist and the oral surgeon because it involves placement of dental implant and the implants are loaded with a temporary or permanent prosthesis. This merging of dental knowledge and experience of the oral surgeons at Piney Point Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery allows good case selection for patients who are candidates for the Teeth–In–A Hour procedure, ensuring a safe, predictable outcome.
The process begins when a CAT scan is taken of the patient’s jawbone. This CAT scan allows for the generation of a three-dimensional model of the jawbone that can then be used with virtual reality software to plan the implant placement without the presence of the patient. The Computer-Guided Implant Surgery (CT Guided Surgery) is done by using a surgical guide to allow implant placement. The results are a more accurate implant placement and less chair time for the patient. The prosthesis that is fabricated is fabricated prior to the surgery but adaptation is made to retrofit the prosthesis at the time of surgery.
After the prosthesis is fitted, the patient is able to function immediately after the implant surgery and the prosthesis is not removable. The fabrication of a final prosthesis is completed prior to the surgery by the restoring dentist. This benefits the patient in that there is less postoperative discomfort, less swelling, and less bruising. Patients can often resume their normal activities the next day.
