We never know when an emergency might occur. That’s why it is so important to be prepared. However, many of us tend to over look the need to be specifically prepared for a dental emergency. If you don’t currently have a dentist, or it’s been a long time since your last dental check up, you may be unprepared for a dental emergency. The best way to avoid this conflict is to find a trusted dental care provider, whom you can call upon in a dental emergency. If you live in the greater Houston, TX, area including: Stafford, Meyerland, Bellaire, Lamar Terrace, Galleria, Briargrove, Rice Military, Heights, Bunker Hill Village, Hunters Creek Village, Hedwig Village, or Katy, make an appointment with Piney Point Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery today. Dr. Weil and Dr. Koo can be your trusted dental emergency care provider when you need help the most.
What is a Dental Emergency?
- A knocked-out tooth is a dental emergency that requires urgent attention.
- A tooth that is loose or out of alignment, is a dental emergency.
- A cracked or fractured tooth is a serious issue constituting a dental emergency.
- Any type of injury inside the mouth, such as puncture wounds, lacerations and tears to the lips, cheeks, mouth and tongue, are considered tissue injuries and a dental emergency.
- A severe infection or abscess in the mouth can be life-threatening and is also considered a dental emergency.
Do I Need to be a Piney Point Patient to Receive After Hours Dental Emergency Treatment?
No. If you have seen Dr. Weil or Dr. Koo before, you can call the office number at anytime day or night, for a dental emergency appointment. If you have never been a patient before you may also call if you have an immediate dental emergency, however you may have to be seen and treated in one of the local emergency rooms where Dr. Weil or Dr. Koo is on staff. In addition, Piney Point will not be able to provide prescriptions by phone for non-patients.
Don’t let a dental emergency catch you off guard and unprepared. If you experience any bleeding from the mouth, severe pain, loose teeth after injury, swelling, bulges or knots in the gums, you should seek dental emergency treatment immediately.
